What we do

Ten ways we support people at home

Most families use two or three of these together, often within the same visit. Visiting calls are all charged at the same published rate; live-in and overnight are quoted as tailored packages.

Live-In Care at Home

A carer lives in the home and supports daily life as set out in the agreed care package.

Personal Care at Home

Dementia Care at Home

Familiar surroundings, steady routines and patient support for people living with dementia.

Companionship Care

Conversation, company and a reliable friendly face that keeps life connected.

No surprises

Every visit length has a published price, and the same rate applies whichever service the visit is for. The number you see is the number on the invoice.

Where we care

Genuinely local rounds

Our office is at Bretby Business Park, between Burton upon Trent and Swadlincote. Keeping journeys short is not a marketing line — it is what protects visit times and makes it realistic to send the same carer back to the same person.

We work across DE11, DE12, DE13, DE14, DE15, DE65, LE65 and the areas immediately around them. Whether we can cover a specific village depends on where our team is working that day, so please ask about your address rather than assuming either way.

How it works

From first call to first visit

Nothing is payable at any point before care actually begins.

  1. Step 1: One phone call

Tell us what is happening in your own words. Ten minutes, no cost, no commitment.

  2. Step 2: A free assessment at home

We visit, we listen, and we write an honest recommendation. Nothing to sign.

  3. Step 3: Your free first visit

The care plan is agreed, and your first 30-minute care call is on us.

What you can count on

The things families ask us about first

Not adjectives — the practical arrangements that decide whether care actually works.

Every carer is DBS checked

An enhanced DBS check is completed before anyone visits a home.

Carers are employed by Luxuricare

Our carers are employed staff, not self-employed contractors booked in to fill a gap.

Uniform and ID badge

We provide uniform tops and photo ID badges, so you know who is at the door.

Spot checks and supervisions

Carried out several times a year, in person, as part of how we manage quality.

Family access to Birdie

Families can be given access to see which carer is attending, visit times and visit notes.

Regular carers, consistent rounds

We aim to provide regular carers and organise clients into consistent rounds.

David HorneBurton upon Trent

“Lyndsey formed a lovely relationship with my Dad and was kind and supportive with my Mum despite Mums mood swings and increasing aggressive behaviour. She was always reassuring and kept me well informed, appreciating my difficulties following surgery and not living locally. Her professional manner helped me make difficult decisions when it became apparent my parents needs couldn’t be met in their home.

“I cant thank my dads amazing carers enough for all they do for him and my mum & the massive help they are to me. Today they have taken my dad on his birthday trip to Twycross zoo. he’s been so excited and is having the best time with them these ladies didn’t have to do this they wanted to because they care.”

“The gentleman pictured is my uncle. It’s been a rough 12 months, diagnosed with Parkinson’s and lost his wife of 52 years in January. Lyndsey was introduced to myself and my uncle around 10 months ago and it’s difficult to put into words how positive her impact has been. It isn’t just ‘care’ but ‘caring’.

Questions families ask first

How much does home care cost with Luxuricare?
Our published rates are £20 for a 30-minute care call, £27 for a 45-minute care call and £31.50 for a 1-hour care call. The same rates apply to every service — there is no premium for a specialist-sounding one.
Which areas do you cover?
We actively accept clients across 17 confirmed towns and villages, including Burton upon Trent, Swadlincote, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Tutbury and Barton-under-Needwood. In postcode terms that is broadly DE11, DE12, DE13, DE14, DE15, DE65, LE65.
Are you registered with the CQC?
Yes — as a homecare agency for the regulated activity of personal care, under location ID 1-27095662090. The service has not yet been inspected, so there is no rating to show, and we are not going to imply one.
Do you provide live-in or overnight care?
Yes, both. A live-in carer lives in the home and supports daily life as set out in the agreed package, with agreed rest periods and cover arranged where the package requires it. Overnight care is available as waking nights or sleeping nights. Both are quoted as tailored packages rather than published rates.
What does the free care assessment involve?
We visit the home, listen, and look at the practical realities of the day. It takes about an hour, there is nothing to sign and no fee — including if you decide not to go ahead.
How quickly can care start?
Often within days, though it depends on the rota and how complex the support is. We will give you a realistic answer at the assessment rather than an optimistic one that falls apart later.
What are your office hours?
Our office is open 6:00am – 10:00pm, every day, and an emergency on-call service runs from 10:00pm to 6:00am, seven days a week. It is the same number either way: 07720 829727.
Will we get the same carer every time?
We aim to provide regular carers and organise clients into consistent rounds. We do not promise the identical person at every single visit, because leave and illness are real — but keeping rounds tight and local is how we make familiar faces achievable.

Where our limits are

We provide home care — visiting calls, overnight cover and live-in packages. We are not a nursing agency: we do not prescribe medication, give injections or change dressings, and we do not make clinical decisions. Those sit with the GP and district nursing team.

If what someone needs has moved beyond what we are registered and trained to deliver, we will say so honestly rather than taking on care we cannot provide safely.
